Hello First Graders,
Happy Tuesday! During this time away from
school I have been doing some writing, mostly in my special journal I got for
my birthday! Have any of you been doing some writing at home?
During Writer’s Workshop, we started writing All About
books. When we write all about books we choose a topic we know A LOT about,
then write a book that shares real, true facts about that topic. For
today's activity, follow the steps below, and have fun!!
- Think about something you know a lot about.
- Ask yourself, “what can I tell others about this topic”, “what would be interesting for others to read about this topic”?
- Write (or begin) a non-fiction book about your topic and then share it with your family. You could even call friends, relatives that don’t live with you and read it to them over the phone! Remember, you can spread this work out over the whole day (or several days)…maybe make the cover during one session, and then a chapter at a time until you feel your book is done!
